Vauxhall Calibra SE6 42K - Rare and Beautiful! Yes...only 42K miles covered! One MOT on sale of car This is a simply stunning example of what has become a very rare car these days....The Vauxhall Calibre. The 'SE6" is the rarest of the 'SE' models and just 55 were produced, as of Q1 of 2024 only 4 SE6's appear to be taxed and in use. The SE6 came in just the very lovely 'Iceland Blue' and was fitted with cream leather seats and had special 5 spoke alloys with with ultra low profiles tyres. The car is fitted with the 2 litre 8v engine of the era and creates 136 BHP, this is married up with a 5 speed gearbox and is altogether a very nice driving experience, easily capable of keeping up with modern traffic and therefore a modern car you could drive daily in you so wished. The bodywork is in superior condition and the interior is especially very nice too. The underneath has been professionally undersealed to help deal with the rigours of age and is in great solid condition. One of the better-looking cars of its generation, the svelte coupé was introduced to counter Japanese sports coupés. Launched in 1989, it enjoyed a production run that lasted until 1997. The Vauxhall Calibra was very much the descendent of the Manta, as both were the work of stylist Erhard Schnell. He shares credit for the Calibra with another GM design legend, Wayne Cherry. It employed the running gear of the first generation Vectra model. When launched the Calibra was the most aerodynamic production car in the world with a drag coefficient of 0.26. It remained the most aerodynamic mass production car for the next ten years. Vauxhall's own Calibra Special Edition range began with the SE1 in 1993, and ran through to the SE9 in 1997. These limited-run editions often had unique aspects. For example, Solar Yellow paint on the SE2, or Icelandic Blue on the SE6. Neither colours were found on any other Calibra.
